Videocassette Recorder
Tapes
eject when record button is pressed
Problem:
Every time I put a tape in the machine and press record, the tape
pops out!
Solution:
Most VCRs are designed to eject a tape if the "record protect"
tab has been removed (to prevent accidental erasure of pre-recorded
tapes). Check that the tab is still in place. The tab is located
just to the left of the place on the thin side of the videocassette
where a title label is put. If you see a square indentation there,
the tab has been broken out. If you are sure you want to record
on this tape you can put adhesive tape over the square opening,
but we don't really recommend it. There is always a chance the
tape will come off in the machine, and that will cause major problems.
Obviously a better solution is to use a new blank tape.
